EPI-REZ™ Resin 7510-W-60

Product Description

EPI-REZ™ Resin 7510-W-60 is a nonionic, waterborne emulsion of a liquid BPA epoxy resin.  Waterborne formulations based on EPI-REZ Resin 7510-W-60 offer customers the following advantages:

  • Low or no odor
  • Non-flammable
  • Liquid epoxy resin performance (e.g. like EPON™ Resin 828)

EPI-REZ Resin 7510-W-60 s based on a liquid epoxy resin with a nominal equivalent weight of 200.  Supplied at 60% weight solids, EPI-REZ Resin 7510-W-60 has an easily-handled viscosity; it is mechanically stable and is completely water reducible.  No organic solvents or plasticizers are used in this product.

  Application Areas/Suggested Uses

  • Ambient or heat cured coatings
  • Civil engineering formulations
  • Waterborne adhesives
  • Modifier for other waterborne emulsions ( for epoxy or acrylic dispersions)

  • Easily handled emulsion
  • Good shear stability and storage stable for one year minimum under proper storage  conditions
  • Suitable for use with many acrylic latex resins
  • Superior wetting and penetration when used  in concrete primer / sealer formulations

Processing/How to use

General Information

In ambient cure coatings applications, EPI-REZ Resin 7510-W-60 can be combined with acid- or amine-functional acrylics or used to modify thermoplastic acrylic resins for improved hardness and improved scrub, water and chemical resistance.  In combination with waterborne curing agents (e.g., EPIKURE™ Curing Agents 8535-W-50, 6870-W-53 or 8545-W-50*), EPI-REZ Resin 7510-W-60 can be used for maintenance coatings, primer/sealers and high gloss concrete coatings.  Other potential applications include its use in epoxy grout, mortars or polymer-modified cement.

EPI-REZ Resin 7510-W-60is well-suited for mixing with waterborne agents that react with the epoxy groups or with catalysts that promote epoxy homopolymerization when heated.  Such curing agents include dicyandiamide. When combined with a suitable cross-linking agent and heat cured then EPI-REZ Resin 7510-W-60 will form a clear, tough, and chemical resistant film.

Safety, Storage & Handling

Please refer to the MSDS for the most current Safety and Handling information.

EPI-REZ Resin 7510-W-60should be stored in its original containers and between 10°C and 25°C, although storage for brief periods of time at temperatures up to 40°C may be acceptable.  Do not allow the product to freeze.  To prevent skinning or surface drying, do not leave the product uncovered for extended periods of time.  Some settling of the waterborne resin dispersion may occur during storage.  In general, waterborne dispersions should be gently and thoroughly agitated before use to ensure homogeneity.

Exposure to these materials should be minimized and avoided, if feasible, through the observance of proper precautions, use of appropriate engineering controls and proper personal protective clothing and equipment, and adherence to proper handling procedures. None of these materials should be used, stored, or transported until the handling precautions and recommendations as stated in the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for these and all other products being used are understood by all persons who will work with them.
