True North™

Canadian Resin Coated Sand with Stress Bond™ Technology

True North™ proppants are a curable resin coated sand available in 20/40 and 30/50 mesh sizes. The True North resin system is applied to Canadian (domestic) frac sand. This economical product provides all the traditional benefits of curable resin coated sand such as proppant flowback control and proppant fines reduction. Additionally, the resin system reduces dust generation during the pneumatic transfer* and conveying process, which helps improve health and safety on location.

Fracture treatments:

  • At closure stress up to 55 MPa [8,000 psi]
  • At bottom-hole static temperatures from 71-191°C [160-375°F]

  • Helps prevent proppant flowback and rearrangement
  • Reduces proppant fines generation and migration
  • Reduces dust generation*
  • Stress Bond™ technology helps prevent wellbore consolidation

  • Grain-to-grain contact must occur and closure stress must be applied during the cure period for proper bonding
  • Consolidation of curable product at bottom-hole static temperatures below 71°C [160°F] is achieved by use of Hexion's AcTivator™ low temperature consolidation aid
