SB Excel

Resin Coated Sand with Stress BondTM Technology

DESCRIPTION

SB Excel™ proppants are a curable resin coated sand available in a 20/40 mesh size. Greenish-brown in color, the SB Excel proppant resin is easily recognizeable on location. One of the advantages of Stress Bond™ technology is proppant pack consolidation only occurs under the correct amount of temperature and stress.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

Fracture treatments:

  • At closure stress up to 8,000 psi [55 MPa]
  • At bottom-hole static temperatures from 160 - 450°F [71 - 232°C]

 TECHNICAL ADVANTAGES

  • High fracture flow capacity - improved post treatment well production
  • Lower fines generation/migration - high long-term fracture flow capacity
  • Proppant flowback control - high production rates/reduced wellbore cleanouts

TECHNICAL CONSIDERATIONS

  • Grain-to-grain contact must occur and closure stress must be applied during the cure period for proper bonding
  • Consolidation of curable product at bottom-hole static temperatures below 160°F [71°C] is achieved by use of Hexion's AcTivator™ low temperature consolidation aid
