Epoxy Polyacrylates for Low Temperature Cure

EPON™ epoxy polyacrylate resins provide both epoxy and polyacrylate reactive groups. As a result, these resins are robust and react readily at low temperatures (below 50°F) and very rapidly at ambient temperatures, as compared to standard epoxy resins. Key features of Hexion’s epoxy polyacrylate resins include:

  • Low to moderate viscosities
  • High reactivity at ambient and low temperatures
  • Reactivity relatively independent of mass
  • Superior wetting characteristics leading to improved adhesive properties as compared to standard epoxy resins
  • Good physical strength and toughness
  • Enhanced resistance to amine blush

Typically combined with EPIKURE™ aliphatic and cycloaliphatic amine curing agents, epoxy polyacrylate resins are tough and easy to work with and may be used for applications such as:

EPON Resin 8161Epoxy Polyacrylate1800 – 2400177Moderate viscosity epoxy diacrylate resin with performance similar to EPON Resin 828. 27 minute gel time with TETA.

1 Other applications include adhesives, electrical castings, electrical laminates and fibers

2 Based on reaction with active amine hydrogen. The reaction occurs with epoxy- and acrylate-groups.
