Product Description

 

EPIKOTE™ Resin 05430 is a low viscous epoxy resin.

EPIKOTE™ Resin 05429 is a paste epoxy resin.

EPIKURE™ Curing Agent 5428 is an amine paste hardener.

EPIKURE™ Catalyst 05431 is a high viscous catalyst.

 

Application Areas/ Suggested Uses

 

This epoxy prepreg system is a four component system with outstanding FST properties which are comparable to phenolic resin systems with smoke density below 200 dm. Furthermore the system provides very good mechanical properties for interior application.

 

Typical suggested uses include but are not limited to prepregs for interior applications. Furthermore applications for floor, firewalls and other panels

Mixing tolerance

We would recommend to pre-mix EPIKOTE™ Resin 05429 before using.

The components must be mixed very carefully. Pay special attention to the walls and the bottom of the mixing container. It must be ensured that during impregnation the containing fillers are not settling down to the bottom by circulation of the varnish.

We recommend mixing the varnish for 30 minutes and check if every material is homogeneous mixed into the composition. If not mix additional 30 minutes and check again. The mixing time could verify due to the amount of varnish. This recommendation is for a 50 - 200 kg batch sizes.

Varnish is stable for approx. 3 - 5 days, but need to re-mix due to settling of fillers.

The mixture can be diluted with additional solvent like e.g. MEK as needed and will depend on customer individual processing guidelines.

EPIKOTE™ Resin 05430 should be stored at < 10°C in its carefully sealed original containers. Under these conditions the shelf life is a minimum of three months from date of certification.

 

EPIKOTE™ Resin 05429 should be stored at at 20 – 25°C in its carefully sealed original containers. Under these conditions the shelf life is a minimum of six months from date of certification.

 

EPIKURE™ Curing Agent 05428 should be stored at 20 – 25°C in its carefully sealed original containers. Under these conditions the shelf life is a minimum of one year from date of certification.

 

EPIKURE™ Catalyst 05431 should be stored at < 10°C in its carefully sealed original containers. Under these conditions the shelf life is a minimum of three months from date of certification.
