Product Description

 

The EPIKOTETM Resin 162 + EPIKURETM Curing Agent 868 system is best used in combination with mica tapes containing accelerators. It offers excellent compatibility with the epoxide/anhydride catalysts presently in common use.

Application Areas/Suggested Uses

 

Used in combination with mica paper and mica-glass cloth as an impregnation system for electrical equipment. Best processed using the VPI (vacuum-pressure impregnation) technique.

The reactive blend of EPIKOTETM Resin 162 and EPIKURETM Curing Agent 868 features excellent viscosity characteristics.

The high purity of these Hexion products offers a guarantee for a prolonged chemical stability, which is crucial to the economy of the vacuum-pressure impregnating (VPI) process.

A mixing ration of 100 parts by weight (pbw) EPIKOTETM Resin 162 to 120 pbw EPIKURETM Curing Agent 868 has been selected for use in analysis and quality assurance of the resin/curing agent blend.

EPIKOTETM Resin 162 + EPIKURE™ Curing Agent 868 should be stored at room temperature in conditions that moisture is excluded and kept in the original containers tightly closed. Under these conditions the components can be stored for a minimum of 12 months from the date of certification.
