EPIKOTE™ Resin 04851




Product Description

EPIKOTETM Resin 04851 is a low viscosity epoxy resin based on a blend of a bisphenol A resin (produced from bisphenol A and epichlorohydrin) and a bisphenol F resin (produced from bisphenol F and epichlorohydrin), and containing an added proportion of reactive diluents and modification agents.


The resin has a low volatility and is nearly inodorous, factors which are responsible for its agreeable handling characteristics.




Application Areas/Suggested Uses


Low viscous epoxy resin for a wide range of applications. EPIKOTE™ Resin 04851 is used in combination with the curing agent EPIKURE™ Curing Agent 04852 especially for primers, mortars and knifing fillers. This system shows a good adhesion even on moist grounds and can be used for brigde renovation.

EPIKOTE™ Resin 04851 shows no tendency for crystallization but separation can occur at temperatures below 5°C.

EPIKOTE™ Resin 04851 should be stored at room temperature in conditions such that moisture is excluded, in the original containers kept tightly closed. Under these conditions the shelf life should be a minimum of three years from date of certification.

EPIKOTE™ Resin 04851 shows a tendency for separation below a storage temperature of 5°C. It is important to stir up the resin before use. The low-temperature incompatibility is reversible and does not mean a loss of quality.
