EPIKOTE™ Resin 3540-WY-55

Description

EPIKOTE Resin 3540-WY-55 is a 55 percent solids dispersion of EPIKOTE Resin 1007 in water and 2-propoxyethanol.This resin is compatible with a variety of aminoplast resins and is stable with a wide range of solvents. EPIKOTE Resin 3540-WY-55 may be formulated to low VOC coatings with excellent adhesion to steel or aluminium. When cross-linked with an appropriate melamine or urea-formaldehyde resin and baked, epoxy coatings can be obtained that offer performance comparing favourably to solvent-borne epoxy coatings. In order to obtain adequate cure in baked films, it is necessary to use an acid catalyst. Low levels of catalyst will exhibit a gradual loss of cure after one week of storage.
