Safety is a value we hold above all priorities. Protecting the health and safety of our associates, customers, communities, and stakeholders is nonnegotiable—and fundamental to our license to operate. Policies and standards set expectations, but it’s a safety mindset that turns them into action. At Hexion, that mindset is embedded in how work gets done every day—driving accountability, continuous improvement, and a relentless focus on zero incidents.
Our global EHS Management System translates policy into action through standardized processes, governance frameworks, and operational requirements across all facilities. It ensures consistency in environmental performance, safety, and risk management worldwide.

Our Approach Hexion will:
Digital Enablement
Hexion continues to advance the use of digital technologies to strengthen product stewardship and regulatory management. We are modernizing how regulatory data, Safety Data Sheets, and product compliance information are organized, analyzed, and maintained across our global operations. We are exploring the use of advanced analytics and artificial intelligence to improve data quality, enhance regulatory monitoring, and support informed decision making. These tools are intended to augment expert review and established compliance processes, not replace them.
Our objective is to increase transparency, consistency, and responsiveness while maintaining rigorous human oversight and accountability.
PFAS
Hexion does not intentionally add per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)—fluorinated substances that contain at least one fully fluorinated –CF₃ or –CF₂– group (including PFOA and PFOS)—to its products.
We monitor global regulatory developments related to PFAS, including restrictions and reporting/disclosure requirements. We evaluate applicability to our raw materials and products as part of our regulatory compliance processes.
Persistent, Bioaccumulative, and Toxic Substances
Hexion does not intentionally add substances designated as persistent, bioaccumulative, and toxic by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency under section 6(h) of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).
We maintain internal processes to review regulatory designations and manage substances that may be subject to restriction.
Formalin Based Products
Hexion manufactures and supplies formalin based chemistries for a range of industrial applications.
These products are managed under applicable regulatory requirements, emission standards, and product safety regulations. We provide appropriate hazard communication and support customers in understanding safe handling and applicable use requirements.
Accountability
At Hexion, product stewardship starts with leadership. Our leaders set clear expectations that regulatory compliance, responsible chemistry, and customer trust are fundamental to how we operate and grow.
We invest in the people, systems, and processes needed to manage our products responsibly across their lifecycle. Every employee plays a role in upholding our standards and supporting safe, compliant, and sustainable solutions for our customers and the communities where we operate.
