EcoVadis, a global sustainability ratings provider, has awarded Hexion's Versatic™ Acids and Derivatives Business Gold-medal status for its commitment to sustainability.

The chemical manufacturing industry is expansive — from raw ingredients to fully-functioning products. Chemical manufacturing is essential to our economy, and it plays a vital role in the creation of innovative, ground-breaking products, processes and technologies that make our life and world healthier, safe, and more sustainable.

Hexion gives generously to many nonprofits and organizations—especially those that support science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education. Hexion is committed to supporting the communities in which we operate and the wellbeing of our associates. In turn, Hexion recognizes that volunteering positively impacts our neighbors and our associates.

Since 2009, Hexion has joined with the AHA in fighting heart disease and stroke by raising nearly $225,000 in support of the mission. Hexion served as the Start Line sponsor of the 2021 American Heart Association Central Ohio Virtual Heart Walk.

For the second consecutive year, Hexion is supporting the Future of STEM Scholars Initiative (FOSSI), the chemical industry’s collaborative equity, diversity, and inclusion initiative aimed at creating pathways for more underrepresented groups to enter and succeed in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers in the chemical industry.

Hexion continues to support the long-standing partnership with the United Way of Central Ohio. Hexion has donated more than $6 million in associate-matching corporate contributions to this organization since 1996.

On September 7, Hexion’s Coatings and Composites segment will be launching a unique online portal called “VeoVa House” (veovahouse.hexion.com). Designed like a contemporary home, it’s an interactive online platform for binders and coatings producers and other potential customers to explore different applications for our VeoVa™ monomers.

Under the guidance of Rick Opschoor and Leo Pals, the Pernis site adopted a new more sustainable-shipping innovation earlier this year: Drumclips. The Drumclip innovation is a prime example of an invention that improves upon the sustainability of Hexion’s transportation and packaging.

Our team in Curitiba, Brazil has led outreach efforts in their area to provide hand sanitizer and food to local health organizations and community members in need.

Hexion’s passionate and engaged associates strive to operate efficiently and create a safe work and operations environment. This includes continued efforts to minimize our impact to the planet.

The Hexion ANZ team is making plans to manufacture World Health Organization-approved formulas for hand sanitizer to supply their community.

On Saturday Hexion's Letmathe site produced the first batch of 1,000 liters hand sanitizer for local hospitals, healthcare practitioners and retirement homes.

Our Lakeland site recently donated two large drums of isopropyl alcohol to the local Polk County Sheriff's office to help them with the shortage of disinfectant.
