Hexion's Australia and New Zealand Team to Manufacture Hand Sanitizer

Apr 6, 2020, 15:44 PM by Rob Schmidt

The Hexion ANZ team is making plans to manufacture World Health Organization-approved formulas for hand sanitizer to supply their community.

As a result of the COVID-19 epidemic, certain key consumer products, such as hand sanitizer, are in short supply across Australia and New Zealand.

To alleviate this issue and speed re-stocking, both governments in Australia and New Zealand have adjusted the legislation regarding the qualification/introduction of therapeutic materials, including hand sanitizer.

In response to this development - and to the need - the Hexion ANZ team, which includes our JV with Laminex, is making plans to manufacture World Health Organization-approved formulas for hand sanitizer.

We have tested the formulations in the laboratory and have prepared the relevant MOC process to cover this introduction to our sites. We have placed orders for the key raw materials and expect to commence large-scale production within a couple of weeks. We will make the materials available to our associates and the local communities.

Great work by our ANZ team to meet the needs of citizens during this challenging time!
